Calvin Mann was born in the city of Detroit to Rev. Columbus Mann and Ollibell Rosetha Mann (wrote oh happy day).  He along with his four brothers and two sisters house many musical talents.  These talents helped him work with artist Regina Bell, Mr. Cheeks, Trick Trick, Karen Clark, Sheared and The Clark Sisters, Curtis Ice Cream Mann, Seth, and Corndog, and on various commercials. 

As a High School, Middle, and AAU Basketball coach for 15 years.  He was instrumental in assisting a number of students going to college. Calvin’s desire is to help build character in the student athlete, a commitment to excellence and most of all to have fun!

By reinterpreting iconic elements from Basketball, such as the "Teamwork" life experience, and imagery, he has infused a rich heritage with new energy and modern appeal.   His fresh and joyous vision combined with his savvy interpretation of the need for encouraging wear has delighted fashion followers around the nation.
In 1992, he received the Vision for Encourage Me IM Young while working at a daycare center.  Which to date is known as the EMIY, which stands for “Encourage Me I’m Young”.  The EMIY has also been worn by Larry Foote on the NFL Network on Father’s Day 2006 also on Run’s House on MTV worn by JoJo Simmons. 

In 2003 the dream was brought to life when he was praying about How to start the company. 
The first quote came to him in Prayer.  "TIME IS ALL WE HAVE TO CHANGE WHAT WE ARE"

Calvin’s creativity has taken him to the clothing industry.  He designed the EMIY which is a clothing line of encouragement and inspiration.  Calvin being a family man understands the importance of being a good father therefore he developed “Good Father’s Only the all male line for dads.  Being a husband (Bridgette), and father of three (Calvin II, Dominique and Cameron).

EMIY Inc. has just launched the Dr. King Memorial Campaign to raise money for the memorial fund.  Keeping Dr. King’s dream alive will increases the chance for all dreamers’ dreams to come true.
